We have offered DAX cars before, and this one is a really hum-dinger!
For over 30 years now, Dax Cars have been re-creating the iconic AC Cobra, building high quality, well assembled re-creations. This is no different. They are known particularly their '427' or Tojeiro model with a small block Chevrolet V8.
This is a Tojeiro finished in stunning black with the classic double stripe combination with an orange highlight. Powered by the iconic Chevy small block 5.0 litre Edelbrock engine, it is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The gears are short, and the clutch perfect so it feels like one of the most engaging driving experiences you can get. The side exhausts helping make it sound just as bonkers as it is. There is a well fitted radio, under the passenger side of the dash board, but with our limited use, it is not used much!! The engine makes much better noises than any FM radio Chanel! The noise is coming from and engine that can produce close to 350bhp and enormous amounts of torque, so you'd imagine it is good.
It was built in 2008 by Dax using their well regarded composite body. Inside the "Cobra" can be found beautifully finished grey leather dash and seats, harness seatbelts and polished twin roll bars. Ten spoke Halibrand style wheels with spinners all blacked out plus the trademark Cobra stainless steel side-pipe exhaust complement the exterior perfectly - all giving the car a low, wide, and purposeful stance. This car further benefits from the addition of a removable hardtop - this truly sets this car apart and looks fabulous in matching colour to the rest of the car. In 2015, Classic Car Restorations rebuilt the entire car and engine, for a large sum of £25,000! They are very good restorers and produce high quality cars, reflected in the condition of the DAX now.
Having only covering 3,500 miles approximately since being built, this stunning example ready for someone to absolutely enjoy!
