At the start of the 1990s, Mercedes-Benz sought to create a compact roadster to sit beneath the Mercedes-Benz R129 SL, offering open-top enjoyment in a more accessible package. The result was the Mercedes-Benz SLK, a model which proved an instant success, thanks in part to its innovative folding steel hardtop, operated at the touch of a button via a fully automatic hydraulic system.

This superb example has covered just over 18,000 miles from new and is now offered with just two owners, the first of whom retained the car for an impressive 20 years.
