This is a truly remarkable find, an incredibly original example that has had just two owners from new, covering 86000 miles. ULJ 2 was supplied new in British Racing Green with Green leather upholstery to a Leonard George Harris in the small market town of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire in October 1967. The original Green ‘buff’ logbook confirms its first owner moved to Kings Lynn, Norfolk in September 1969 where the car then stayed until changing hands to one of our long term customers in 2003. Remarkably this is an example that has never required restoration. It's one of those rare finds, a car that's never been left to deteriorate, and has been well maintained, cherished and cared for its entire life. The Jaguar MKII is also incredibly original, an almost completely original car with the only notable change being a desirable conversion to chrome wire wheels. Unbelievably the car still retains its original carpets and headlining, the interior still generally lovely after almost 60 years.

When the car changed hands in 2003 it had covered just over 80,000 miles so over the past 23 years our customer has enjoyed around 6000 miles in the car. With properties in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, our customer has regularly driven the car across the counties and the MKII has been one of the longest standing members of his delightful classic car collection of around 20 vehicles. Used regularly and kept totally on the button throughout ownership, the Jaguar has been driven over to us and really is delightful in every respect.

ULJ 2 has a strong, excellent bodyshell, nicely presented paintwork and chrome, and of course the most original, beautifully aged interior. On the road the car performs wonderfully with its fit, healthy 2483cc six cylinder engine that holds very good oil pressure and correct temperature. The all syncromesh gearbox with overdrive is lovely and smooth, and the brakes, suspension and steering all feel totally correct ensuring an enjoyable driving experience. This really is a wonderful motor car, it will be incredibly difficult to repeat as a very correct, low ownership, genuine original car.
