Beschrijving

The Facel II was the last "exclusive" model to leave the Facel-Vega factory in Paris, and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars of its time. Powered by a mighty 6.3-liter Chrysler V8 engine, it was one of the fastest cars of its era, and at a price of 73,500 Francs, also one of the most expensive. With only 182 units produced, it remains a rare sight even today. On behalf of our client, we are pleased to offer this stunning black 1964 Facel II, which has undergone a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration by Amilcar and has only been driven 3,000 km since. Additionally, this car is the rare manual transmission version!

A car made for touring:

The car offered here, chassis number HK2-B-167, was delivered on June 2, 1964, by Garage Maréchal Foch, a dealership in Grenoble. The first owner is unfortunately unknown. The car was delivered in the configuration seen today, with the matching numbers engine. In 1987, the car was acquired by Mr. Claude Clavelle, a French banker and member of the French Facel Vega Club. In 1998, the car suffered a cable fire that caused significant damage to the body and interior. At that point, it had covered 140,000 km. After this, the car was purchased by a certain Martin Terrijn, a collector and Facel Vega restorer, in 1999 or 2000.

In 2005, Mr. Koehne visited the Amilcar stand at the "Inter Classic" event and expressed interest in adding one of the best Facel Vega II models to his collection. Together, we went to see the car in its condition at the time, and Mr. Koehne decided to purchase it on the spot. A very costly restoration was commissioned, which took over five years to complete. The car was delivered to Mr. Koehne on December 22, 2009, with the odometer reading 00008 km.

The car went on to win first place in its class at the "Concours Het Loo" in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, in 2014, as well as another first-place finish at the "Retro Classics meets Baroque" concours in Ludwigsburg, Germany, in 2016.

The current owner purchased the car from Mr. Koehne, and it has been regularly driven, remaining in sensational condition. A detailed appraisal is available, which rates the vehicle in condition 1. The replacement value is estimated at **480,000.00 **EUR. The car has been tested and photographed multiple times by a German specialist magazine. It is available for a test drive at any time, and can also be inspected on a lift.
