This is one of those very special cars with amazing provenance and history. Further to that, it’s an incredible driving car and the condition throughout is equally as impressive. The BMW 2002Tii was with one family until 2018 when it was then sold to a family friend making this an ultra low ownership car that still retains its original colours and desirable registration mark MGC 34L. During the cars early life it regularly toured Europe and by 1987 the first owners son took the BMW to renowned specialist Jaymic for an extensive body restoration, re-trimming and mechanical overhaul. Due to overseas work and getting married, the restoration was staged over quite sometime and it wasn't until the 1990's when the BMW was completed. It was very sparingly used and the BMW experts Jaymic continued to look after the car. In 1998 Jaymic carried out further mechanical work to include a 5 speed gearbox upgrade and throughout the early 2000's the BMW continued to be driven sparingly covering very few miles. In 2013 Jaymic carried out a major engine rebuild to include re-grinding the crankshaft, new main and big ends bearings and double timing chain. All new hoses were fitted and various mechanical work carried out.

Just a few hundred further miles after the 2013 engine rebuild, the BMW was sold for the first time since leaving the showroom during the early 1970's. A friend of the family, its new owner sent the car back to Jaymic to carry out some re-commissioning work and a new Becker Europa Vintage chrome radio with new speakers. Over £8000 was spent in late 2018. Since then the BMW has covered again just a few hundred miles and has been regularly serviced and superbly maintained.

MGC 73L has been looked after BMW experts most of its life and whilst it's only covered around 1000 miles in the past 20 years or so, it's an amazing car to drive. The engine is perfectly balanced, smooth and offers exceptional performance. It sounds superb, performs superbly and the five speed gearbox hugely enhances the driving experience. Handling is fantastic, the car pulls up perfectly straight, everything works including the heater system and sunroof, the car just feels incredible on the road. It really is something very special in terms of performance and is a car to be driven.

Having had so little use since its extensive body restoration, the structure is still outstanding. The under body is first class, panels are excellent and the paint finish is of a lovely standard. The interior trim is wonderful, the engine bay beautifully presented and brightwork is impressive throughout. This is an all round wonderful machine, its history, paperwork, condition and performance on the road is all of such a high standard, this really is an unrepeatable opportunity. Cars like this don't become available very often, this is a true gem.
