The all new Alfa Romeo 156 was the model that put the brand back on track, when introduced in 1996. Beautiful and so well driving like few others it became an immediate success, just what Alfa needed. Having Alfa’s historical heritage in mind, it didn’t take long before a racing version was presented, obvious from the start. In collaboration with Nordauto Squadra Corse (later N. Technology), a dedicated track racer with Group N specification was developed, ready for delivery from 1998. It’s exactly such a car that we present here – a genuine Fiat Auto Corse S.p.A. car – delivered new to Denmark. It is believed that around 50 examples were produced, so the car is actually quite rare. From 1998-2003 the model participated in the Italian Super Touring Car championship – and of course won with famous drivers such as Giovanardi and Tarquini behind the steeringwheel. The car was built to easily meet the requirements for Group N, complete with FIA approved roll cage, harnesses and safety equipment. Mechanically the car is quite standard, which helped to keep running costs low for the often private teams. However, the clutch and flywheel are special on the car, and have just been replaced. In other classes, engines was prepared up to over 300bhp.
The car here appears well maintained, complete and ready to use. Full documentation is avaible including the original delivery invoice from Fiat Auto Corse. Not having been in competition for a few years and therefore needs to have some of the equipment replaced to suit the new owner. Comes with Danish national HTP, a fresh FIA HTP can be supplied separately. You can hardly go racing cheaper, and that even with a genuine factory-built racing car. With investment potential as well due to its authenticity and rarity.
