Volkswagen 27/B1 Type T2A Ambulance

This Volkswagen Ambulance is for sale and is originally from Italy and has been stored dry and heated in the Netherlands for the past 4 years. The "birth certificate" has now been received from Germany, and the Volkswagen Group Classic Parts gives the following specifications of the car.

The ambulance served at a hospital in Bolgna and later in Rome, copies of some photos are available.

In the ambulance all original attributes are present, stretcher, oxygen bottles, heart monitoring app, complete cabinet full of bandages, needles and everything that was used at that time.

If you then look at how the layout of an ambulance is now, it was very spartan then.

The car is in perfect condition, according to the inspection report drawn up on 19-12-2017 (Valuation value € 40,000)

The inspection report is present, it states, among other things, that a technology update and engine overhaul took place in December 2017, the mileage is 13,530 KM, no significant damage or deviations.

Factory steering lock, several keys present, the body was provided with a new coat of paint at the time. 14 inch rims re-powder coated, new tires.

The car is equipped with original double blue flashing lights, siren and front lamp with a red cross, all in excellent and working condition.

This Volkswagen Ambulance is a real collector's item, and in perfect condition.

According to the data, 27 of this type were built, the company Miessen was responsible for the installation of the equipment and appearance as an ambulance. This was commissioned by Volkswagen Germany.

At the time, some also drove around in the Netherlands, but they can no longer be found, possibly also destroyed by weather and wind and a large degree of rust sensitivity.

As far as I know this is the only moving ambulance from that series, unless one is still in a museum somewhere. But we cannot say this with 100% certainty.
