Description

In 1924, Fiat presented their 509 model at the Grand Palais in Paris. Fiat aimed to build an economical and reliable car for the general population. They achieved this by constructing a chassis that could be used for a variety of body types, such as Berlina, Torpedo, Cabriolet, Spider, Coupe, and Coupe Royal. This allowed Fiat to keep costs down and offer six different body styles. This strategy helped Fiat win Italy's first 'People's car' in 1927 with the model we offer here - the Fiat 509 A tourer.

Fiat was previously a brand associated with new technology and fun driving characteristics. Fiat was the first car brand to produce engines with an aluminum cylinder head, and they were also the ones who invented the oil pressure warning light. The Fiat 509 comes with a 1-liter engine, which is quite lively thanks to overhead valves and an overhead camshaft.

Our Fiat 509 A originally comes from Norway, where it was parked in a barn and stored for 34 years before being purchased and imported to Sweden in 1972. From 1972 to 1974, our Fiat underwent a comprehensive renovation by Karl Erik Johansson, who spent over 2,000 hours on this fine Fiat 509 A. It has since been imported to Denmark and is now offered to a new vintage car enthusiast. The car drives remarkably well and is in excellent condition!
