Having famously been unimpressed with the 348, Luca di Montezemolo ensured that Ferrari would return to world-beating status and the F355, alongside the 456 and F50, ushered in a new-era for Ferrari. Launched in the April of 1994 to critical acclaim, the Ferrari F355 took the motoring world by storm with Jeremy Clarkson famously quoting it in 1996 as the “The greatest car in the world ever”.

Penned by Pininfarina, the F355 Spider benefitted from over 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel ensuring that it not looked the part, but sported F1-inspired aerodynamics to keep it glued to the road. The engine was heavily revised from the 348 with displacement increasing from 3.4 litres to 3.5 litres and a new innovative five-valve per cylinder resulting in the highest power-to-displacement ratio of any naturally aspirated road car at the time. The results were 375bhp, 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and redline at an eye-watering 8500rpm, all in harmony with an engine note like no other V8 supercar before it. Electronic adjustable dampers were also introduced and further improvements made to the handling and gearbox really set the F355 into a class of its own, and head and shoulder above its predecessor. Now 30 years on the F355 has cemented itself as one of the most important Ferraris of its generation, if not of all time. A truly superb modern classic that will benefit any collection.

Ordered in the timeless colour scheme of Argento Nürburgring over Bordeaux Red leather interior, this F355 GTS was supplied new to its first owner in Beaconsfield by Maranello Ferrari Egham on 6th October 1998. Its current owner acquired the car in 2015 having known the previous owners before him. This car was optioned with red brake calipers, rear challenge grille, six CD changer and painted removable top.

Boasting a comprehensive history file and service history with the most recent service undertaken at 16,999 miles, in September 2024 by specialists H.R Owen at a cost of just under £3,600. The work undertaken included new belts, belt tensioner, gaskets and a visual health check. The previous service was undertaken in 2021 and before in 2020 at 16,563 at H.R. Owen in which a full-service including belt changes. The car is supplied with the original book packs, leather pouches, original toolkit and a MoT test certificate valid until November 2025 with no advisories.
