This is a beautiful 1966 Volvo Amazon. The car has been fully restored in the recent past. The work was carried out very thoroughly and to a high standard. The car, therefore, looks to pass through a ring and is ready for many years of typical Volvo Amazon driving pleasure. The car has been in the possession of the previous owner since 1995, who also took care of the restoration of the car and the overhaul of the technology.
During the restoration, the car was completely reduced to bare metal. Where necessary, the sheet metal was repaired and the underside of the car was also completely stripped and later painted in the colour of the car. The body of the car, therefore, looks beautiful. The sheet metal is nice and thin everywhere and the fits are correct. The mouldings were all renewed during the restoration, as were the window and door rubbers. The car was repainted in its original colour. The dark blue paint has been well sprayed and has a beautiful shine. The car stands on original steel wheels surrounded by good tires in the correct sizes. The rims are fitted with beautifully chromed hubcaps. The bumpers were re-chromed during the restoration and the lighting also looks beautiful.
The interior of the car was completely reupholstered during the restoration. The colour scheme is a beautiful combination consisting of black carpets and red upholstery on the seats and rear seat. The seats have been refilled and not only look beautiful but also sit very well. The headliner is also in very good condition. The dashboard is an example of an understated and functional Swedish design and houses clearly legible instruments. The instruments and controls all function as they should and look neatly cared for.
The Volvo is powered by the beloved B18 engine. The engine produces 75 horsepower and in this case, is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Both the transmission and the engine were completely overhauled during the restoration and are therefore in good condition. The engine runs nicely and moves the Volvo effortlessly. The transmission shifts precisely and has fine gearbox ratios. The engine compartment looks beautifully cared for and was also repainted during the restoration. The brakes and chassis have been completely renewed. During the restoration, all wishbones, the subframe and the rear axle were all repainted or powder coated. The mufflers were replaced during the restoration and the exhaust system is also in very good condition.
