1973 | Triumph TR 6 PI

This is a truly exceptional UK Home Market RHD, 150 BHP CP Chassis number Triumph TR6 that we know incredibly well. We first bought this car back in 2003 just a few years after completion of a ten year rebuild to show class condition. The car was subject of a body off restoration with no expense spared and it had covered very few miles when first arriving with us 22 years ago. We sold the car promptly in 2003, and again in 2006 to a Huddersfield based customer who kept the car for 15 years covering around 10,000 miles over this time. Throughout this period the car was maintained by the well known Yorkshire TR Centre.

Twenty years or so on since the rebuild, in 2021 the TR6 was ready for paintwork due a dull finish. The car was externally stripped down and treated to a full complete re-paint and bumpers were fully re-chromed. The car was also fully re-commissioned at this point with mechanical work to include a gearbox rebuild (due to weak synromesh), new clutch, rebuilt differential, new injectors, new propshaft, top ball joints, track rod ends, brake discs and pads, wheel bearings, clutch master cylinder, oil cooler, new radiator hoses, new heater valve and five new Pirelli tyres. We then supplied the car to its most recent owner who has enjoyed 6000 miles over four years, and over this period the car has been taken to the next level again. With the original preparation work in 2021, around £30,000 has been spent on this TR6 with the recent owner further improving the car with a full engine rebuild to include fast road camshaft, engine bay re-furbishment and re-paint, new carpets, new boot kit, LED external lights, hazard warning switch, power assisted steering, new dashboard, cleaned gauges and dials, powder coated wheels, and new distributor.

As result of the recent expenditure, this is a truly exceptional example. The TR6 has been touring in the UK, recently covered 1300 miles with the European TR Group across Holland Germany and on the road is outstanding. With just a few thousand miles since an engine, gearbox and differential rebuild, the car can be purchased with absolute confidence, further to this the upgrades and cosmetic work gives the car the finish of a much more recent restoration. This is a beautiful example, the bodywork is excellent, as is the chassis and underbody, and the paint finish, brightwork, interior and engine bay are all of a very high standard, as is the high quality hood. With just over 20,000 miles since an older restoration and 6000 miles since the recent major program of work, this is a superb buy in exceptional mechanical condition.
