This charming 1969 Porsche 911E Targa is powered by an air-cooled 2.0-litre flat-six engine with mechanical fuel injection (MFI), producing around 140bhp, paired with a five-speed ‘dogleg’ manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.

History & Ownership

This 911E Targa was first sold by Moore Porsche Audi, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 24 September 1969, showing just 55 miles. The first owner kept it until 1971, maintaining it through Porsche dealerships. It was then sold to an enthusiast in Florida, with service records from that period covering 2001 to 2015. A later owner entered the car into the Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance in 2016. It is a matching numbers car with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity to confirm.

The car was imported to the UK and registered with the DVLA in December 2018. The odometer shows 74 thousand miles.

In May 2020, it underwent a Major service work by Unit Eleven, including oil and filter, gaskets, heat exchangers, cam covers, engine mounts and more.

This is a well-presented and highly usable classic 911E Targa with great history, a desirable colour combination, and plenty of character. The 1969 Targa is extremely rare, as only 858 were made that year. Very few of these still retain their original MFI Fuel Delivery System.
