This is an incredibly rare car and one we are delighted to own. This truly outstanding 1963 Lancia Appia Saloon has recently won a concours at Thoresby Hall and has to be one of the finest in the U.K. It was sold through Retromobile in Paris in 2010, and in 2013 imported into the U.K. and has been since owned by a classic car enthusiast with a long established history of working in the automotive industry. Involved in many events in the motoring world, classic car racing to publishing books, the car has been in very safe hands for many years.

On the road the Lancia performs beautifully, driving to us faultlessly from Huddersfield for its initial appraisal. Styled like its Aurelia B10 big brother, Lancia's small saloon kept up to Lancia's tradition of innovation in automotive technology. This was exemplified by the Appia's ultra compact engine, the narrow angle 1089cc V4 that offers very impressive performance ensuring these cars were a spritely, very usable and capable of long distance touring. Within the past 3000 miles over £4000 has been spent on a major service, brake re-line, front brake hoses, re-conditioned master cylinder, sleeved wheel cylinders, rebuilt fuel pump and a front suspension rebuild. The Lancia has proven incredibly reliable and also participated in the Guild of Motoring Writers European Rallies without hesitation. It's a very strong car, mechanically impressive and really good fun to drive.

The car presents beautifully with exceptional bodywork, delightful paintwork and brightwork. The underside is exceptional, it's structurally outstanding and has clearly led a very sheltered life in central Europe. The upholstery is of a lovely standard and it's clear from looking at the car this is a beautifully kept, largely original example that is somewhat unrepeatable. There's no doubt it will be incredibly difficult to find another example quite like this. A car for the discerning collector.
