1973 Citroën DS
The 1973 Citroën DS stands as a symbol of automotive innovation and elegance. Renowned for its futuristic design, it featured hydropneumatic suspension that delivered an exceptionally smooth ride and self-levelling capability. Its aerodynamic shape, advanced braking system, and power-assisted steering were far ahead of their time. By 1973, the DS combined refined comfort with distinctive French style, securing its reputation as one of the most influential cars in motoring history.
This 1973 Citroën DS underwent an earlier restoration with lots of rally-spec upgrades done along the way. We are informed that it was campaigned across Europe extensively, and with great success, including several first-in-class placements at various historic rallies as well as a first place at the 2011 Pateley Bridge Concours. The list of upgrades and rally parts is impressive, among them are SM oleo pneumatic spheres for better handling, a Brantz International 2 tripmeter, front seat four-point OMP harnesses, Cibie Super Oscars with period-correct covers. The car was resprayed in its original scheme, with 'Italian Rosso Corsa' bodywork and contrasting black fiberglass roof. In addition to the front four-point harnesses, all four seats are equipped with modern inertia-reel belts for daily use convenience. The stock, period head unit is retained but with the addition of an MP3 player connection hidden in the glove box. This comfort of these cars is well known and this example is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner Consigned by Dominic Lake
