Beautiful ID Super 5 with a lot of history, including all maintenance invoices, documents, valuation reports and MOT forms. Includes the original French registration number and the notebook of the French owner who owned the DS for over 18 years. All services are listed in it! Imported to the Netherlands in 2003 by a well-known ID/DS specialist and immediately sold to the only Dutch owner. The purchase invoice and the RDW inspection report are available. So it has been owned by one owner for 23 years and is now for sale due to family circumstances. He was a true Citroën enthusiast and had his darling car maniacally well maintained. A lot of money has been invested to keep the car in top technical condition. All carried out by the best ID/DS specialists.
The Super 5 was delivered new in the colour ‘Vert Argente AC 527’ and the body has been repainted in the original metallic colour in the past. The quality of the paintwork is fine and there are some signs of wear and paint flaws. The body is otherwise in good condition. Many stainless steel and chrome parts are still original and have slight signs of wear. The well-known chrome wheel trims have been renewed and spare ones are available. Upon arrival in the Netherlands, a complete anti-rust treatment and major maintenance were carried out. In 2006, the demanding owner had a Dinitrol treatment carried out by the best Dinitrol specialist in the Netherlands: Gosliga from Leeuwarden. The car is therefore excellently protected. The doors and bonnet close neatly and the seams are also in perfect condition.
The interior is a beautiful time capsule and almost entirely original! The spacious seats and rear bench have their original fabric upholstery, although the driver's seat has been reupholstered in the past. This seat looks perfect and the upholstery is completely intact. The other upholstery has discoloured, which is to be expected after 55 years. But a classic car with this much originality is rare these days. The switches, gauges and clock all work as they should, the headliner is intact and there is a centre armrest in both the front and rear.
The DS has therefore been perfectly maintained. Just 2,700 km ago, major maintenance was carried out, including additional work such as replacing the engine mounts, ignition lock, oil pressure sensor, hydraulic pump, wheel bearings, steering wheel covers, etc. In 2023, two new Michelin tyres were fitted, the steering ball joints were replaced and major maintenance was also carried out. In 2022, the following were replaced: the clutch, heater radiator, exhaust, various rubbers, spark plug cables, water pump with hoses, etc. In 2021, a reconditioned engine with modified valve seats was installed. In 2017, a Landi 85-litre LPG system was installed, so the car runs excellently, even on LPG. Shifting gears is easy, the engine starts immediately and has plenty of power.
All invoices from the last 23 years are available for inspection and amount to no less than £35,400 in repairs and work. Given the technical condition, the asking price is very attractive!
