1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 2+2

 

Gorgeous early-production Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 2+2 in great mechanical and cosmetic condition and only 81028 miles on the odometer. The car retains its original 2.6-liter inline six and 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Offered for sale in the classic color combination of black and red over a red leather interior, the car has the desirable 2+2 seat configuration with room for four people. The car starts, drives, and stops as it should, and a full inspection and service ensure that it can be enjoyed as-is for many years. The car passed Danish technical inspection (MOT/TUV) in June 2019 and will not have to pass inspection until August 2027. The car is coming out of Danish ownership and has a Danish title and papers dating back to 1958.

History of the Austin-Healey 100-6:

The Austin-Healey 100-6 is a two-seat roadster announced in late September 1956 and produced from 1956 to 1959. A replacement for the Austin-Healey 100, it was followed by the Austin-Healey 3000; together, the three models have become known as the Big Healeys.

 

The 100-6 featured a 2 in (50.8 mm) longer wheelbase than the 100, a more powerful straight-six engine in place of its slightly larger inline-four, and added two occasional seats (which later became optional). The body lines were slightly streamlined, a smaller, wider radiator grille was placed lower, an air scoop was added to the bonnet, and the windscreen was fixed.

 

The 100-6 was produced in two model designators, the 2+2 BN4 from 1956 onwards and the 2-seat BN6 from 1958–9.
