On behalf of a customer, we are selling a modern icon in a classic style: the reconstruction of the Aston Martin DBR1 Roadster by ASM
This ASM DBR1 is a beautiful and impressive replica of the 1959 Le Mans-winning Aston Martin DBR1. One of the most beautiful and legendary sports racing cars of its time, designed by Ted Cutting.
In 1947, industrialist David Brown (DB) acquired the renowned Aston Martin company. Under Brown's leadership, the team achieved a significant victory at the famous Le Mans race in 1959. That same year, the DBR1 team not only won the Le Mans race but also the World Sports Car Championship. After these victories, Aston Martin focused exclusively on single-seater racing. Only five DBR1s were built between 1956 and 1958.
But the legendary Aston Martin was given a new lease of life on a farm in Norfolk—not just a farm, but also the home of A S Motorsport Limited, a company founded there by engineer Andrew Soar in 2007.
Fortunately, his passion is to continue the glory of the Aston Martin DB R1 and build the ASM DB R1, a high-quality and faithful replica. Andrew Soar has combined improvements in braking points, spring design, geometry revision, and structural changes with more modern technology to deliver a superb driving experience.
The car offered here was built by A S Motorsport for the owner according to their personal specifications. The ASM DB R1 was built to order and allowed the customer to choose from three different options. These include road-going and race-specification. The customer car's classification falls roughly between sports car and road car specifications.
The interior of this magnificent car is a delight. Exposed aluminum profiles underline the sporty performance, as does the four-point harness. The driver's seats and headrest are upholstered in brown leather. The seats themselves are stylish and comfortable. The 16-inch Moto-Lita steering wheel with wood surround is a tactile delight, as is the polished H-Gate gearbox housing. The engine compartment houses a 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder Jaguar XK engine, built with a fuel-injected Weber carburetor system while retaining its original appearance.
The ASM DB R1 for sale is in excellent mechanical and bodywork condition. A S Motorsport Limited provides comprehensive documentation of all design features and technical specifications, as well as a complete service history with all invoices and repair documents.
This ASM R1 offers you the authentic driving experience of a top-class racing car. A vehicle that will transport you back to the golden era of racing in the 1950s as soon as you sit behind the large steering wheel.
