Description

Quick note: It's a lot of text and detailed description for an equally special historic and rare vehicle that is second to none.

That was not an excuse. It was just a hint that you can expect something special here....

We are delighted to be able to offer you one of the most important Jaguar XK 120s. The original vehicle of the racing legend Jack Sears with the original license plate DVV-200.

A total of 12,056 Jaguar XK120s were built (FHC, OTS and DHC).

The coupe version of the Jaguar XK120 was produced 2,678 times (194 RHD, 2,484 LHD).

Almost a third of the Jaguar XK120s built were ordered with the more powerful SE option.

Jaguar XK120 with standard engine: 8,254 units

Jaguar XK120 with the more powerful SE engine: 3,792 units.

In response to special customer requests, Jaguar delivered 26 vehicles with a particularly high-compression and even more powerful engine.

These 26 vehicles had the so-called "9S engine".

According to Jaguar, this special XK 120 is Heritage:

1 of 26 Jaguar XK120 SE (all body styles) with a "9S engine"

1 of 12 Jaguar XK120 SE FHC (LHD and RHD) with a "9S engine"

1 of 1 Jaguar XK120 SE FHC RHD with a "9S engine"

This means that the Jaguar was not only purchased as a new vehicle by racing legend Jack Sears, but is also the only right-hand drive car of its kind in the world. It also has a complete history in the form of registration documents, FIA passport, invoices, photos, personal dedications and correspondence.

Jack Sears drove his Jaguar XK120 SE FHC, DVV 200 in a total of eight racing events in the 1954 season (including the RAC Rally, Goodwood and Snetterton). Jack Sears achieved a podium finish in seven of the eight races with the DVV 200.

Brief information on the first owner and racing driver Jack Sears:

Jack Sears won the "British Saloon Car Championship" in 1958 and in 1963 and competed a total of four times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and twice in the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Between 1960 and 1965, Jack Sears drove for the absolute top teams in the World Sports Car Championship, driving cars such as the Ferrari 330 LMB, AC Cobra, Jaguar E-Type Lightweight and Shelby Daytona Coupe.

In the 1970s, the EX Jack Sears Jaguar XK120 came into the possession of Peter & Michael Sargent. Peter Sargent was also an outstanding racing driver (e.g. World Sports Car Championship in Jaguar C-Type, D-Type & E-Type, Lister Costin, ...; 3x 24h Le Mans).

Peter & Michael Sargent sold DVV 200 to Francis Perring in 2000 after many years of ownership. All changes of ownership can be documented. The number of documents of all kinds is immense.

The last owner acquired the Jaguar XK120 SE "9S" in 2003.

The car has been cherished and cared for by its owners over the years. The vehicle presents itself in a remarkable condition and impresses with its very good, original substance.

Technically, the Jaguar XK120 SE FHC 9S Coupé is absolutely top and ready for immediate use. It was also invited to the Goodwood Revival 2018 (Fordwater Trophy) and prepared for the Goodwood Revival at the top address CLK Developments. Corresponding invoices for over 30,000 GBP are available.

The Jaguar is of course mentioned and illustrated in Jack Sear's biography "Gentlemen Jack", as well as in "The Jaguar XK's" by Paul Skilleter, "Original Jaguar XK" by Philip Porter and in "The Jaguar XK120 in Competition" by Dr. James Fraser.

Numerous documents are available for the vehicle (Heritage Certificate, books, photos, invoices, as well as the FIA papers (valid until 2028).

Due to its exceptional historical value, Jack Sears' historic and original XK 120 with the legendary registration "DVV-200" is particularly suitable for participation in the absolute top events such as the Mille Miglia and Goodwood Revival.

I don't think I need to explain to anyone who is familiar with the automobile collector scene or racing enthusiasts from the old days what an automotive treasure we are talking about here. The vehicle is still an absolute legend in the international racing scene!

Rarely have we had a more beautiful vehicle in our inventory, which we can sell on behalf of our serious customers. We are also familiar with the vehicle due to its ongoing care and maintenance.

The car will now receive its first German registration for driving in Germany in the next 2 weeks. This means that the Jag can also be driven normally on the road.

The kilometers or miles are read from the speedometer. Of course, this has also turned over the years. However, it is also easy to trace due to the extensive documentation. The fact that the vehicle has deliberately only been moved occasionally in recent years due to its valuable status probably needs no comment. Connoisseurs will appreciate this.

We will be happy to provide you with detailed advice and arrange a viewing by prior appointment. A test drive is only possible if you are seriously interested and the weather conditions are suitable.
