If you wanted a luxury sedan with the performance of a sports car in the 1960s, you could not ignore the Jaguar Mk II. With a power of well over 200 hp, they were very fast cars that could be driven with great comfort. It is not without reason that the police were required to drive Jaguars at that time, the thieves' guild always chose a Jaguar to rob a bank or commit other crimes. TV hero Inspector Morse also chose a Mk II.
The Mk II that we offer here is one with the very pleasant 3.4-liter six-cylinder. 210 hp strong and that ensures that it is still a very sporty car with performance that regularly rivals modern cars. Not that this has to be a goal in itself, because the Jaguar drives incredibly well if you are on a sporty road trip without getting the most out of it. That is not necessary because the car has enough power and torque everywhere.
This concerns a Jaguar MK II which was delivered to the first owner on January 1, 1964. It has been driving on Dutch roads since July 1999.
The Mk II has already been beautifully restored. A professional restoration in which no expense was spared to achieve the ultimate result. The car was painted in a unique colour of light green that looks truly fantastic. Rarely have we seen a Mk II that stands out as much as this example. The light green paint contrasts beautifully with the chrome in concours condition, such as bumpers, grille, lighting parts and of course the wire wheels.
What gives the whole extra cachet is the beautiful dark interior that fits in wonderfully with the exterior colour. The leather has a beautiful patina, so the car does not have the appearance of a freshly restored example. At the same time, the entire interior is in beautiful condition, with defects or damage conspicuous by their absence. As can be seen, the woodwork has also been varnished very expertly (eight times) and therefore looks new.
The engine, which was of course completely overhauled at the time, runs beautifully and sounds very pure. In this case, the power source is linked to a manual gearbox with four gears and an overdrive. The entire engine and transmission function perfectly and provide a fantastic driving experience, together with a good chassis and tight steering. It makes the car a real joy to travel with. Sportiness and flexibility appear to go well together with this beautiful Jaguar that drives great.
The Jaguar comes with a photo folder with photos of the restoration at the time and many invoices.
We can be simple about this Mk II: a top car in exceptionally good condition and an equally good colour scheme.
