Innocenti 950 Spider – 1962

Original Brescia Plates – New Engine – ASI Certified

This exceptional Innocenti 950 Spider, designed and bodied by Ghia, is one of the few surviving examples in completely original condition—and likely the only one known to retain its original Brescia registration plates.

First registered on September 8, 1962, in our city, the car still retains its original black plates and period-correct green registration booklet, listing its few owners—all from the Brescia area.

The last owner, an elderly enthusiast, preserved it with great care and recently had the entire mechanical system overhauled and the engine rebuilt by a well-known vintage car specialist from Brescia.

The engine is fully restored and has only driven a few kilometers since; the car is still in its break-in period.

What makes this Innocenti 950 Spider truly unique is the preservation of all original features, including the extremely rare original steering wheel—a virtually impossible item to find today.

The bodywork is in excellent condition, as are the interior and the new black fabric convertible top.

In 2020, the vehicle was registered with the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) and awarded the Certificate of Historical and Collectible Relevance, confirming its authenticity and historic value.

Technical and Historical Overview

The Innocenti 950 Spider is the elegant Italian take on the MG Midget and Austin-Healey Sprite, sharing the same chassis and mechanical components.

Produced between 1960 and 1963, it was powered by a lively 948 cc BMC engine delivering around 43 hp, with rear-wheel drive and a 4-speed manual gearbox.

Lightweight and stylish—thanks to Ghia’s design—the Spider was nimble, enjoyable to drive, and produced in very limited numbers, making it far rarer than its British counterparts.

This is a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to acquire a genuine, rare, and fully functional example, ready to enjoy without needing any work.
