Fiat 500 Luxury / Lusso- 1969

The smallest car in our classic collection is undoubtedly this Fiat 500 L. The L stands for Lusso and is the luxury version of the 500 F. In 1957 the 500 was introduced under the name Cinquencento Nuova. It is the time of reconstruction after World War II and there was a need for a small car with low maintenance costs.
From 1957 to 1977, the Fiat 500 was produced in various variants under the name 500 N,D, F,L and R. A total of 3,702,078 copies rolled off the production line.
The Fiat 500 N and D models had the so-called suicide doors (to rear hinged doors) but this was changed in 1965 with the introduction of the F-model. The hinges were placed in the A pillar. For this adjustment, the A and B pillars were made wider and the sills narrower. The engine power (499 cc) was also tackled and the magical limit of 100 kilometers top speed was reached.
The interior was also adapted. The round clock was replaced by a wide model, the instruments were easier to read with large numbers and a fuel gauge. The dashboard was coated in black and a new two-spoke steering wheel was fitted. The switches were replaced as well as the buttons and warning lights. In 1972, the R model became the successor to the Lusso and production was finally stopped in 1977.
Only in 2007, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Fiat 500, the new Fiat 500 was introduced. A confirmation that the design of Dante Giacosa is good and with some adjustments is ready for the future.

Our offer:
Fiat 500 Lusso from 1969, executed in the beautiful color Giallo Positano (ocher yellow) with Nero black interior (seats, dashboard, steering wheel) and a black sunroof. The car was imported from Italy in 1994 by the father of the current owner. Has therefore been in the possession of the family for more than 25 years. The car has been restored and is completely original, engine has been overhauled and unleaded. The original change box (gears) is underneath and therefore you have to "clutch" twice. The car is rust free and treated with ML both inside and outside and has always been inside in a heated room. In short, this "backpack" has always been cherished by the family and is looking for a new owner with a lot of TLC (Tender Loving Care)!
