A beautiful design by Pininfarina, a 'flat-12' for the rear axle and fantastic driving characteristics: can it be even more Ferrari than this 512 BBi... As the successor to the 365 GT4 BB, the 512 BB is a car that almost every car enthusiast will love. knows. In 1981, an injection system was added to the five-litre twelve-cylinder, a Bosch K-Jetronic injection system to be precise, which resulted in the 'i' being added to the name.
Although the top power does not improve significantly, there is a little more torque available in the midrange. Performance doesn't lie: a sprint to 100 takes 5.4 seconds, the top speed is around 285 kilometres per hour. An incredible speed over the years, and still today.

This 512 is one of the 1,007 BBis built, built between 1981 and 1984. You can see: this 512 is one of the last built. The Ferrari is delivered in the classic 'Rosso Corsa' colour scheme over a black leather interior. A combination that can of course always be described as 'fantastic'. In recent years, the 512 (and its predecessor) has been rapidly gaining popularity. The first model with a twelve-cylinder mid-engine, a model with technology that partly came from motorsport and the fact that the basis of the model is now more than 50 years old makes the 'BB' a highly sought-after classic.

The 512 BBi that you see here is one not to be missed in your search for a perfect Berlinetta Boxer. Shown here is a rare, pure 512, which radiates this in all areas. Let's start with the interior, which is beautifully original. The leather on the seats clearly shows that the 512 has barely seen 14,000 original kilometres under the wheels. The upholstery is undamaged, has hardly any significant wear and the seats are excellent. Even more striking is the dashboard, which has unprecedented sleek leather upholstery. We usually see that the leather is a bit bumpy and uneven, due to age, moisture and sunlight. Not in this 512, where the leather is still nice and smooth everywhere and with relatively very tight stitching. In front of the driver's nose is the typical 1980s steering wheel with characteristic meters behind it. Dark black dials with orange-red indicators and hands in the same color: Veglia produced beautiful 'counters' and they all function perfectly, of course. On the centre tunnel, you will not only find the recognizable lever with a steel shift pattern but also the controls for the original Borletti air conditioning.
The same applies to everything in the interior: the 512 looks exceptionally beautiful and genuine.

Looking at the bodywork, nothing actually changes the feeling we have with the car. A beautiful car with incredibly beautiful paintwork. The red paint has the right deep shine and full colour. The beautifully lined body is in excellent condition, with all fits being very good and items such as rubbers and lighting parts very fresh. Whichever side you look at the Berlinetta Boxer from: what a beautiful and impressive appearance it remains. The pointed front, the very wide rear with four taillights and four exhausts: everything about this Ferrari is 'typical 70s Italian sports car'.

If we look at the technology, we have good news: after 14,000 kilometres, the technology is incredibly good. Naturally, this has been maintained over the years so that rubbers, gaskets and many other things are fresh, but this engine has not had a tough, intensive life. The 'flat twelve' is a feast for the ears and the eyes, especially when it is in a condition as you see here. The mere fact that the entire engine, exhausts and suspension are so clearly visible when the entire rear is opened makes this model a true work of art.

This Ferrari 512 BBi is one of the best examples we have seen in recent years. The car comes with the on-board folder with booklets.
