Are you in search of a barely used Ferrari? You could visit your Ferrari dealer for a young 812 Superfast or perhaps a fresh 458. Another option? This formidable and practically new 456 with only 5,691 kilometres on the clock, very recently serviced with a fresh timing belt and more. Ready to drive, a sound investment, and also business-wise intriguing. The 456 GTA is not the most well-known Ferrari model, so let's delve into its history.

When in 1992, Ferrari presented the long-awaited successor to the 412, it came in the form of a luxurious 2+2 coupe with a spirited V12 beneath a long hood. While following the same recipe as the 412, the differences are substantial: the very sleek and straight-lined 412 gives way to a rounded model with a fairly curvaceous rear. These feminine forms ensure that the 456 still looks modern and graceful today.

Designed by Pininfarina, or more accurately by Pietro Camardella working at Pininfarina, the 456 was embraced by many and quickly seen as an ultra-luxurious GT. However, this does not diminish the fact that it is also a thoroughbred sports car, boasting a V12 with 442 hp. Ferrari claims that the 456 reaches a top speed of 309 km/h, making it the second-fastest production four-seater, behind the Porsche 959. At that time, it was the most powerful 'regular' production car the brand had ever built.

The 456 is available not only as a GT with a manual transmission but also with an automatic transmission. In that configuration, the 456 is known as the GTA, with this abbreviation not standing for Allegerita but for Automatico. This variant, with a four-speed automatic, is precisely the car depicted here. Perhaps less of a 'hardcore' sports car, but the question is, how aggressively would you drive such a beautiful classic-in-the-making nowadays? Delight in sporty cruising, enjoying winding roads and long stretches of asphalt: this automatic might shine even more brightly than it did back then.

An additional bonus is the extremely distinctive colour combination of this 456 GTA. In 2003, the owner opted for white paint. Now, it almost doesn't matter what colour the interior is with white, but let's be honest: it doesn't get more beautiful than natural-coloured leather. The paint is in excellent condition, matching the unique mileage of 5,691 kilometres. The interior is also well-maintained, and once behind the wheel, you may not want to get out. Buckle up, turn the key, shift the automatic transmission into 'D,' and the sheer enjoyment can begin.

The classic V12 makes itself heard without being overpowering, a pleasure during a long drive. The 442 horses do their job effortlessly and amiably. While the manual transmission might have a more thrilling character, the GTA is, in fact, a 'gentleman's car' par excellence. Enjoying one of the most stylish creations from Maranello, and still available for reasonable amounts.
