Description

A rare American beauty and French descent! His line is exceptional! At the wheel, what happiness!

Historical

At Buick, the name Electra designated the top-of-the-range models, equipped with the most luxurious equipment. As for the number 225, it alluded to the length of the car: 225 inches, or 5.71 meters. Like the Americans of that time, it was powered by a bulky 6.5-litre V8 whose 325 hp allowed the rapid starts appreciated by the fiery youth of "La Fureur de Vivre".

Description

The Electra 225 on offer is one of the extremely rare examples sold new in France. This Electra cabriolet has known only four owners, all Parisians except the last, Normand. The second owner acquired it in the early 1980s, before selling it in 2000. Passionate about American cars, the third owner had been looking for a French example for many years and, when it was purchased, the car did not display only 60,000 km on the odometer. He then decided to have it restored and entrusted it to Pacific Garage, which specializes in American cars. The file includes a set of invoices retracing the work carried out, for a total of 70,000 euros. Subsequently, this splendid automobile was the subject of an article in the magazine Nitro, n° 214 of 2005, where it appeared on the cover. Now displaying 83,000 km, the car has received a new engine and it still has its original interior, which has been wonderfully preserved, and offers high standard equipment with electric controls for many elements: the seats, the windows, the soft top, the aerial... It is fitted with an audible cruise-control, a two-tone city/highway horn and a discreet car radio with a ten-CD changer has been installed in the trunk. This car is a true witness to the excessiveness and American inventiveness of the time, as shown by its dashboard which can be observed through a mirror placed under a large visor, which can be adjusted according to the driver's size... Grey-green metallic with red interior, it offers the rare possibility of traveling with four or five people with the top down enjoying the landscape, the sun and the wild emotions of American Graffiti. Our opinion

It is a very rare car to find on the market and it is the year of the most beautiful version! Without a doubt, an exceptional American!
