This Alfa Romeo was delivered on 1 October 1972 from the Milan factory to its first Italian owner. Originating from Rome, the car was imported to the Netherlands by the current owner in 2020 and has been extensively overhauled, revitalised and rebuilt in recent years with an eye for detail and originality, to bring it back to top condition. For instance, the brakes have been renewed (all calipers, blocks and discs), as have the shock absorbers, coil springs and inner wings. The exhaust has been largely replaced and the suspension has been completely checked. It can be seen that the car comes from a sunny climate: the underbody is in excellent condition, the sills are original and the car has never been welded. For protection, the underside has been sprayed in PVC coating. Most of the chrome work has been replaced or polished. The beige fabric interior is largely original. Floor mats, door panels, rear upholstery, dashboard and headliner have been renewed. The 1300 GT originally had a 1.3-litre engine with only 89 hp. Regularly, examples were upgraded with a new more powerful engine to better match the car's sporty image. Such was the case with this example: the well-run 2-litre engine with Weber 40 DCO1 carburettors produced 129 hp. Combined with the low weight of about 970 kg, the Alfa Romeo accelerates to 100 km/h in about 8.7 seconds. Bertone's design is pleasing to the eye and the car is well known as one of the most beautiful 2+2 coupes ever built. The 5-speed manual transmission, together with rear-wheel drive, ensures the ultimate driving experience. In short: a true, pure Alfa Romeo. Art to behold and emotion to drive, beautifully executed and revitalised with a sense of originality. An addition to any collection and/or enthusiast.

General information about the Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior
Built from 1965 to 1974, the Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior was the entry-level model of the brand's coupe series. This model with a relatively small engine was introduced to tap into a market - especially in Italy - where less road tax had to be paid. The design came from top designer Bertone: with its robust-looking front and cleanly drawn lines, it is still a coveted model. In motorsport, the car was and is very successful, whether in a more powerful version or not. With a length of about 4 metres and a weight of about 970 kg, the car is therefore agile and sporty. The interior is beautifully finished: beautiful chrome counters, a wooden dashboard and a distinctive 3-spoke wooden steering wheel.
