Description
Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior “GTA Tribute”
La Meccanica delle Emozioni
This project is a tribute. A tribute to the joy of driving, to Italian engineering, to the motorsport spirit of the 1960s – and most of all, to the Alfa Romeo GTA. The basis is a GT 1300 Junior, transformed with passion and technical finesse into a highly drivable, contemporary interpretation of the GTA. Not just a showpiece – but a true driver’s car, made for country roads, mountain passes, and, when needed, even the race track.
The Starting Point
A raw diamond! This Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1300 was originally delivered in Germany and is entirely un-welded, unrestored, and rust-free. It is one of the last built, highly sought-after early GT “Scalino” models. Work already completed by the legendary Alfa Classic Center (ACC) in Dortmund includes:
- ACC suspension with red Koni shocks
- Rear axle trailing arms with reinforced bushings
- Installation of tinted windows all around
- Cavity sealing of the body
- Loving restoration of paint and interior with Swissvax
The matching-number engine will be removed and can be included upon request. Total mileage to date: only 65,797 km. The interior is entirely original with black leatherette. Additionally, a Veglia oil temperature gauge has been installed alongside the beautiful factory instruments.
Currently, the car comes with deregistered Monegasque registration papers. Copies of the previous German registration documents are available, making re-registration in Germany or France straightforward.

The Goal
We have successfully completed several Alfa Romeo early GT “Scalino” restomod builds in the past, using modern engine technology with our RESTOMOD philosophy. The goal: to create one of the fastest Bertone coupés on the road – without compromising everyday usability.
Planned upgrades include:
Full overhaul and optimization of a 2.0-liter Alfa Romeo Twin Spark engine, including:
Lightened crankshaft
Custom lightweight connecting rods
Custom forged pistons with piston cooling
Custom lightened flywheel
Ported and polished head with larger valves and optimized flow
Custom camshafts
Conversion from twin carburetors to fully programmable electronic fuel injection
5-speed sports gearbox with hollow shafts and lightened gear set
SACHS racing clutch
Custom Bilstein shock absorbers with Eibach sport springs (30mm lower)
Motorsport oil/water heat exchanger
Lightweight motorsport alternator and starter
Limited-slip rear axle (2.0-liter, 10:41 ratio)
Custom stainless steel exhaust system with performance headers
GTA replica wheels 7x14" with Toyo 195/65-14 tires
New 55-liter fuel tank
Gel battery mounted in the trunk
Conversion from standing to hanging pedal box
Brembo aluminum brake calipers with ventilated discs

Body
Our plan is to leave the fantastic, rust-free body largely untouched. Optionally, the bumpers can be removed, and the corresponding holes closed to enhance the GTA look. Additionally, we would install a GTA replica steering wheel in the interior. Of course, we can accommodate custom requests and tailor the interior to the individual needs of the client – at an additional cost.

Summary
This Alfa is not just a car. It's an experience. It doesn’t speak to the mind – it speaks to the heart. It's about the sensation when the Twin Spark revs high, the car dances lightly through corners, and the classic cockpit begins to vibrate. This is not meant to be a museum piece – it's a rolling statement. A celebration of style, passion, and Italian joy on four wheels.
This "Scalino" not only embodies the typical Italian “Dolce Vita” but is also a beautifully designed, timeless coupé with unmatched and incredible performance.
The Conclusion – La belva nascosta
A design icon in a tailor-made suit, with the heart of a race car. Not a car for purists – but for connoisseurs. For Alfisti who seek the extraordinary. Who understand that character can’t be measured in horsepower – but in goosebumps.
