Geen Mustang spreekt zo tot de verbeelding als de Eleanor. De basis werd gelegd in 1967, het jaar waarin Ford zijn Mustang groter, breder en gespierder maakte en de Fastback definitief uitgroeide tot de meest begeerde carrosserievariant. Ruim drie decennia later kreeg juist die 1967 Fastback een tweede leven als filmster, en sindsdien staat de naam Eleanor voor het absolute icoon onder de Amerikaanse muscle cars. Deze auto is een officiële Eleanor uitvoering, erkend door Eleanor Licensing LLC, en werd in 2020 professioneel opgebouwd als restomod. Van die opbouw is een fotoreportage aanwezig. Onder de motorkap ligt geen klassiek blok, maar een moderne 5.0-liter Coyote V8 uit 2015 met 450 PK, gekoppeld aan een handgeschakelde zes versnellingsbak. The foundation was laid in 1967, the year Ford made its Mustang bigger, wider, and more muscular, and the Fastback definitively became the most coveted body style. More than three decades later, that very 1967 Fastback was given a second life as a movie star, and since then, the name Eleanor has stood for the absolute icon among American muscle cars. This car is an official Eleanor model, recognized by Eleanor Licensing LLC, and was professionally built as a restomod in 2020. A photo report of that build is available.
