A stunning rust-free Pininfarina Spidereuropa 2000 i.e. with a rich history, including the original Belgian sales order, service invoices and MOT certificates. So this is not a Fiat but an original Pininfarina from the significantly improved series. Excellent condition and MOT valid until June 2027.
When Fiat decided to stop selling the popular 124 Sport Spider in the USA, Pininfarina decided to take over the entire production. This included production for Europe as well. The car was improved in over 100 areas and build quality was significantly enhanced. Thanks to these improvements, driving pleasure and reliability increased. This 124 was built in 1984 as a Spidereuropa and delivered new in Belgium. The US version is called the Spider Azzura Pininfarina.
The Pininfarina was originally delivered in the attractive colour ‘Nero 061’ and, as is often the case with classic cars, the bodywork has been repainted once. The quality of the paintwork is excellent. The bodywork is beautifully smooth and all the original details are well maintained. The car has been meticulously cared for and maintained. Consequently, everything looks immaculate and there is no rust whatsoever. The thick fabric soft top looks good, fits snugly and the windscreen is clear. The glossy black paintwork suits the car very well, especially in combination with the beige interior. The car is completely original, so it features the correct alloy wheels and the rectangular logo on the bonnet.
The interior is beautiful and entirely original. The seats are strikingly beautiful, as are the door panels and the carpet. The beige cover is also very attractive. The dashboard is also completely original, very attractive and not dried out as is the case with so many cars coming from the USA.
The most important thing in a classic driver’s car is, of course, the engine! As you know, the iconic Lampredi ‘Twin Cam’ has an excellent reputation: sporty, powerful and tuned for high torque across a wide rev range. Over 34 years, millions of these engines were built for various car brands. Highly reliable, easy to maintain and you’re treated to a lovely Italian sound. And in this version, the engine is fitted with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and electronic ignition.
