About this Porsche 911
----------------------

NEW ARRIVAL

The 3.0 Carrera was was a limited run built between 1976 and 1977 and was built between the standard 911 and the 930 Turbo. Only 3,687 3.0 Litre Carrera's were produced of which 2,564 were Coupes and 1,123 were Targa's, but it is believed that only 1,064 were right-hand drive examples of which very few actually came to the UK. It is essentially a normally aspirated version of the contemporary 911 Turbo engine and its combination of 200bhp in a car that weighs just 1093kg (substantially less than the 911 SC and 3.2 Carrera that followed), ensures sparkling performance of 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds and with a top speed of 143mph. In short, it was a fast car in its day, and remains so today.

This Porsche 911 3.0 Carrera Targa - Chassis No: 9117610039 and Engine No: 6670108 is a 'Matching Numbers'car and was supplied new by Porsche dealer Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield to its first owner in Derby and was registered on 14th October 1976. It is finished in Guards Red with a Black interior, Black carpets and Black Vinyl covered removable Targa Roof panel and it has electric windows, all original instrumentation, its original Steering Wheel, a Blaupunkt Brisbane Bluetooth radio, electric Mirrors, its original 2993cc Flat Six fuel injected Engine, 5 Speed Manual Gearbox and sitting on its original 16" Fuchs Alloy wheels.

The car has had 11 former owners from new, but only 3 in the last 32 years and it has service records and invoices in the history file from the early 1980's and most MOT certificates from its first one in 1979 to date. It has had a considerable amount of work carried out on it over the years and has been looked after by many Porsche specialist's including Paul Edwards Racing, Machtech, Pickup Motorsport, Autofarm and No5 Garage in Acton, London, W3 since 1996.

In August 2002 No5 Garage carried out a complete repaint of the car which included fitting new front wings + inner wings and much more. No5 bought the car from the owner in 2009 and in 2010 they completed a full rebuild of the engine and on completion it was MOT'd in March 2012 with the mileage at 116,441. The owner of No5 decided to keep the car and it was placed in storage up until January 2023 when it had the Targa Roof panel refurbished and recovered + some paint rectification and lastly recommissioning with an invoice for £10,115 in March 2023. It also had a Sigma CAT 1 Alarm system with central door locking fitted at this time.

The car is in lovely condition throughout, albeit with the odd mark/chip whilst in storage and it drives beautifully. The current mileage on the speedometer reads 116,768 from new, so it has only been driven 327 miles since the engine rebuild and is still running in. It comes with a ring-binder full of invoices, all ownership history from new, its original Porsche wallet with Porsche Handbook and Maintenance Book and MOT certificates + 2 sets of keys.

A full set of photographs and a video will follow upon completion of our showroom preparation.

Upon sale, the car will come with our own standard 6 months Mechanical Breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty.

The car is of course Road Tax Free, MOT exempt and ULEZ compliant and relatively cheap to insure with a Classic Car Policy - see a list of Classic Car Insurance brokers on our Links page:
