This very rare Riley RMC with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine has a unique history. The previous owner was a Brit who owned the car in his home country, owned it for a long time but rarely drove it. The current Swiss owner had professional dealings with the owner when he was in England looking after his building sites. A friendship developed and the young Swiss man was asked to drive the Riley when he was in England. He did so extensively, as he loved the car. But the Brit would never sell his one and only, the white Riley!
One day while on a skiing holiday together in Switzerland, the Swiss mentioned that he wanted to buy a classic car and asked if his English friend would like to accompany him to view it. To his complete surprise, he replied with an offer to buy his Riley! The joy was great. No sooner said than done, the Riley was loaded onto a trailer shortly afterwards and transported from the UK to Switzerland by its proud new owner.
From now on, the Riley was allowed to do what it was built for: It was allowed to drive, many beautiful laps through half of Europe. It was not spared and always served its owner without complaint.
The RMC was properly maintained and serviced, presented at events and well looked after in winter.
Now it's time for this fantastic cabriolet to delight a new owner.
The RMC bears the marks of its life with dignity.The paintwork is far from perfect, but the soft top, interior and technology are flawless.In August 2024, it received its veteran's inspection and is now ready for new adventures.
There is a thick folder with documents, the slightly tattered owners handbook has been copied and summarised in a folder.Invoices and lists provide information about the work carried out, which is documented with pictures.
