For many enthusiasts, the 964 is the Porsche that truly defines the 911. Introduced in 1989, it brought the classic air-cooled 911 into a new era, combining the character and purity of its predecessors with a remarkable level of engineering development. Beneath the rear deck sits the legendary 3.6-litre M64 flat-six naturally aspirated, air-cooled and wonderfully mechanical in its delivery. It is the sort of engine that never fails to put a smile on the face of an enthusiast.

The Carrera 4 was the first 964 to arrive in 1989 and represented a significant step forward for Porsche. Its sophisticated four-wheel-drive system delivered an entirely new level of traction and confidence, without taking away the unmistakable character of the 911. This was a car engineered to be faster, more capable and more accomplished, whilst retaining the analogue feel that makes the 964 so desirable today. For those who appreciate the engineering as much as the driving experience, the Carrera 4 remains a particularly compelling 964.

This particular Porsche 964 Carrera 4 was delivered new in Italy in 1990 to its first Italian owner. During its early years, the car was maintained by Porsche Centres in Milan and Lugano, before making its way to the Netherlands in 2003.

Since arriving on Dutch soil, the car has continued to receive the attention it deserves, with its history documented through numerous Porsche Centre and specialist stamps.
