Its power plant is a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 which produces 612 hp and over 1000 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm, a record figure for the period. Driving the rear wheels via a five-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, the SL65 boasts tremendous outright pace, combined with impressive comfort and superb build quality. 0-60 mph acceleration is achieved in just 3.6 seconds.

The ‘one man, one engine’ philosophy is reflected by the characteristic signature plate on the AMG V12 which bears the name of the specialist who assembled the engine and guarantees the highest standards of quality and workmanship.”
