Uitvoerig gerestaureerde Jaguar MK2 3.8
Toen Jaguar in 1959 de Mk2 introduceerde, zette het merk in één klap de standaard voor de sportieve sportlimousine. De 3.8 was daarbij altijd de meest begeerde uitvoering: met de legendarische 3.8 liter zescilinder motor met dubbele bovenliggende nokkenassen was dit in de jaren zestig een van de snelste vierdeurs auto's ter wereld, zowel op het circuit als op de openbare weg. Deze Jaguar Mk2 uit 1967 is uitgevoerd met de handgeschakelde versnellingsbak met overdrive, waarmee de zescilinder op snelwegtempo aangenaam blijft draaien, en beschikt over schijfremmen rondom, in die tijd bepaald geen vanzelfsprekendheid. Verder is de auto voorzien van een roestvrijstalen uitlaatsysteem. Dit exemplaar is uitvoerig gerestaureerd, waarbij de authentieke sfeer van de auto zorgvuldig behouden is gebleven.
Het Gunmetal Grey lakwerk past uitstekend bij het karakter van de Mk2 en laat de gespierde welvingen over de wielkasten en de strakke daklijn mooi tot hun recht komen. Het vele chroom versterkt dat beeld: de forse bumpers, de omlijsting van de ruiten, de sierlijst over de flank, de springende Jaguar op de neus en de extra lampen naast de grille. De chromen spaakwielen vormen de kroon op het geheel en geven deze Mk2 een onmiskenbaar sportieve verschijning. Binnenin wacht een echt Brits interieur: de originele bordeaux rode lederen bekleding draagt een fraaie patina en vertelt het verhaal van de auto, terwijl het houten dashboard met de klassieke Jaguar-klokken, de houten deurlijsten en de rode tapijten de sfeer compleet maken. Het sportieve Nardi stuurwiel sluit daar perfect op aan. De combinatie van het grijze lakwerk met het warme, diep bordeaux rode interieur is klassiek Engels en oogt buitengewoon smaakvol. Een Mk2 3.8 met handbak en overdrive rijden is een belevenis die maar weinig klassiekers evenaren.

Extensively restored Jaguar MK2 3.8
When Jaguar introduced the Mk2 in 1959, the brand instantly set the standard for the sporty sports sedan. The 3.8 was always the most coveted version: with the legendary 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts, this was one of the fastest four-door cars in the world in the sixties, both on the track and on public roads. This 1967 Jaguar Mk2 is equipped with the manual gearbox with overdrive, which keeps the six-cylinder running smoothly at highway speeds, and features disc brakes all around, which was by no means a given at the time. Furthermore, the car is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system. This example has been extensively restored, with the car's authentic atmosphere carefully preserved.
The Gunmetal Grey paintwork perfectly suits the character of the Mk2 and beautifully showcases the muscular curves over the wheel arches and the sleek roofline. The abundance of chrome reinforces this image: the substantial bumpers, the window surrounds, the trim strip along the flank, the leaping Jaguar on the nose, and the extra lights next to the grille.
