Jaguar MK II 3.8 Litre automatic, year 1962. Body finished in Old English White combined with a two-tone grey cloth/aquamarine blue vinyl interior, trimmed with black carpet. This beautiful Jaguar MK II 3.8 Litre was imported to the Netherlands on 14 July 2010. The automobile was purchased by the current owner on 6 April 2017. In 2017 the automatic gearbox was repaired, and the steering pump was inspected with the odometer reading 522 miles. In June 2019 the car underwent an extensive service by a Jaguar specialist in the Netherlands. Several oil leaks were repaired, the dynamo was overhauled, the voltage regulator renewed and adjusted, the rubber engine mounts renewed, carburettors cleaned and refurbished, and the fuel tank renewed. The automatic gearbox was then fully overhauled. Furthermore, new Lucas Fog rangers were fitted. € 15.000 was invested in repairs and service since 2017. This vintage Jaguar is in a very good and wonderful condition inside and out. Only the back lower ends of the ‘spats’ over the rear wheels show tiny spots of corrosion (some bubbling visible in the photos). Being part of a classic car collection, the Jaguar was driven sparsely, the odometer now reads 2023 miles. The Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Litre was introduced in 1959. The MK II was a refined British saloon that combined comfort with notable performance for its time. Powered by the top of the line 3.8‑litre Jaguar XK 220 bhp straight‑six sport car engine, it offered strong acceleration (just under 10 seconds from 0-60 mph with the automatic 3-speed Borg Warner gearbox) and a smooth driving experience, making it popular with both more affluent private owners and the police. Also, the thieves’ guild appreciated the MK II; “Pure wheels for outrunnin' the Dibble.” This example features a wonderful original interior in a stunning 1960s colour scheme. The wood dashboard and other wood finish lavishly on display all-round the interior give the interior an air of exclusivity and elegance. The car features an original Radiomobile AM radio.
