A very beautiful and excellently maintained Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole. Originally delivered new in Switzerland and comes with a full history, including service booklets, maintenance invoices and MOT certificates. A valuation report from 2023 is available, assigning a quality grade of 2, which indicates a very good original condition. After many sunny years in Lugano on the beautiful Lake Maggiore, the Mondial was imported to the Netherlands in 2001 by a collector of exclusive Italian classics.
The exterior looks very smart and the Mondial retains almost all of its original paintwork. There are a few signs of wear, but these have already been factored into the fair price. A major advantage is that there is almost no snowfall in Ticino and no road salt is used. Furthermore, the Mondial has no history of damage. The car has just been professionally polished and the paintwork has a beautiful deep sheen. The QV is stored indoors under a soft red cover. The original alloy wheels are undamaged and fitted with the correct Michelin TRX tyres. These tyres are 3.5 years old and still almost as good as new.
The interior is beautiful, original and a real 80s time capsule. The seats are remarkably well-maintained and still comfortable. All the gauges work as they should, and the ‘check control monitor’ is also fully functional. That was very modern at the time and represented a step forward for Ferrari in terms of ergonomics. There are only minimal signs of wear, which is a huge compliment. Everything is clean and smoke-free. The air conditioning is not working. The leather MOMO steering wheel is timelessly beautiful. It was a joy back then: no fuss, no buttons, just made for steering! The door trim is also in great condition and the headliner hangs perfectly taut. A lovely touch is the original Ferrari briefcase!
As mentioned, the QV has been excellently maintained; there are invoices available totalling approximately €30,800 for maintenance. Hence this golden tip: never buy a Ferrari without a verifiable maintenance history. Every effort has been made to keep this Mondial in top condition. A brief summary of the work carried out in recent years: new clutch with pressure plate, new timing belts with tensioners, valves adjusted, oil seals and gaskets replaced, all fluids changed, brakes checked, new camshaft bearing, new engine mounts, exhaust manifold and exhaust system repaired and modified, and much more. All fuses and relays have also been replaced for greater reliability.
