According to the Alvis factory records, this car was sold new in April 1937 to Southport, UK, finished in dark green with the wings painted in the same colour as the body. The car comes with a lovely history file, complete with letters and period photographs.
It was imported into Holland from Scotland in 1977, having been in long-term family ownership. In 2001, the car received a 1st in class at the prestigious Paleis Het Loo Concours d’Elegance.
In 2006, we sold the car to its current owner, on whose behalf we are now pleased to offer it for sale.
One of the finest cars produced in the 1930s. The Speed 25 has a 3 1/2 litre 6 cilinder engine and an all-synchromesh gearbox combined with independent front suspension plus pneumatic servo assisted brakes give the car excellent pace, roadholding and stopping power. It had also the low-slung chassis that allowed the fitting of sporting and elegant coachwork. All this set Alvis apart from the rest.
