From my private collection, I am selling the Mk2, one of three fully built Triumph Speed Triple T509 restomods.
The machine is technically mature, proven reliable and in very good condition. The sale is solely because I am reducing my motorcycle collection and want to keep only one of my three T509s in future.
The concept
The Mk2 was born from the question of how the first Speed Triple with an aluminium frame, fuel injection and twin headlights might look and ride today if its strengths were consistently developed further without losing its analogue character.
The result is neither a show bike nor a collection of arbitrary aftermarket parts, but a fully developed, road-legal restomod. Almost every assembly was reworked, renewed or specifically improved. With a full 18-litre tank, the Mk2 weighs 201 kg, around 19 kg less than the production motorcycle.
Engine and drivetrain
The 885 cc three-cylinder engine was completely dismantled and rebuilt as part of the project. The original mileage of the donor engine is not documented. When dismantled, the cylinder liners showed no visible wear.
