JJH 491G was first registered on the 1st of April 1969. Mechanically, the Morris is in excellent condition having covered less than 7,000 miles since its major engine rebuild in 2019. The bodywork presents as an older, restoration with its dark Blue paintwork contrasted well by the iconic traveler woodwork and White grille. Recently, the Morris has been subject to meticulous maintenance, looked after by a classic car specialist.
In 2018, the Morris was sold and serviced by Sussex Classics Ltd to a gentleman based in Morpeth. From then, Old Motor House in Northumberland have looked after the car, servicing and MOT testing it annually. A year into the ownership, Old Motor House carried out a full engine rebuild when the car had covered 74866 miles. In 2020, the Morris received a de-scale and full underseal treatment to preserve the undercarriage. 2021 saw the Morris get a new radiator hose kit, another engine service, and the tappets were adjusted. The same year, the interior was treated to a pair of new front vinyl seats bought from Newton Classic Interiors. We supplied the Morris to the last owner in South Wales, he has enjoyed using the car for various events and shows and it now returns to us in part exchange.
This is a very usable example of a Morris Minor Traveller that starts on the button and would be perfect for touring.
