We are delighted once again to offer this exceptional, correct car back onto market. We last sold this magnificent example in late 2020 to a collector up on the North Yorkshire Moors. Demonstrating its driving quality and reliability, we carried out a 100 mile round trip to recent owners home where it impressed in every respect. Due to a growing collection, we can now once again offer this rare opportunity to purchase a first class, fully rebuilt Triumph TR2 that has covered less than 2000 miles since a complete nut and bolt restoration in 2014. There is no doubt this TR has show winning potential and also boasts huge provenance being a genuine UK car with matching numbers, original registration mark that has been restored with photo record to original specification including interior and exterior colours. The car VAF 344 has absolute true provenance being completely correct and it is no doubt better than the day it left the factory.

This outstanding vehicle was restored by a restoration expert with a keen eye for detail. Many years ago we sold the best MG Midget we had ever seen, restored by the same owner and this car was also restored to a totally original specification. That MG has gone on to win multiple show winning events and since restoring the MG, a Triumph GT6 was restored and has since featured in magazines with the quality of restoration being one of the main focuses of the article. The results of this long term TR2 rebuild are impressive and the entire restoration has been done to a very high standard.




VAF 344 was registered new in Cornwall and an initial rebuild in the South West began well over thirty years ago. It was not completed or put back on the road and several years ago was purchased by the restorer. Everything on this car was either restored or replaced by new items. The car is totally original and it resembles the car as it left the factory and has a totally exceptional, immaculate underside. It has overdrive on 2nd, 3rd and 4th, has a heater and is re-trimmed in half leather. It retains positive earth and the colour is Signal Red with Matador Red interior with matching wool carpets. All chrome is either new or re-chromed and a new hood and new windscreen have been purchased. The engine has been stripped down and piston rings and main bearings replaced, a new oil pump has been fitted and the timing chain replaced. New parts include a fuel pump, water pump, dynamo, restored distributor, rebuilt carburettors, control box, fuse box, wiring loom, solenoid, master and slave cylinders, heater matrix, dash instruments, all lights and many more. There is a photographic record of the work and a comprehensive invoice file.




The last few owners are very well known to us and the car has proven faultless on the road since its full restoration. It has won club events, and over the past couple of years its been carefully stored as part of a beautiful high quality classic car collection. VAF 344 is top class order in every respect and there's no doubt this is a unique opportunity to purchase a standard specification, matching numbers original RHD car in as new condition.
