Born from Porsche’s GT1 racing legacy, the 996 GT2 was never meant to be subtle. After the GT1 class faded out at the end of the 1990s, Porsche turned its attention to building something that would carry that same raw racing spirit onto the road. The result was the GT2: the most powerful, most focused, and most intimidating version of the 911 at the time.

Think of it as a 911 Turbo stripped of its four-wheel drive, fitted with a six-speed manual, and pushed far beyond its comfort zone. With 462 hp going straight to the rear wheels and no traction or stability control to save you it’s a machine that rewards skill and demands respect. Brutal, unfiltered, and designed to keep your heart rate permanently elevated.

And then came the Clubsport version. A rare, factory-built special for purists who wanted their GT2 to feel even more like a racing car. Porsche made just 70 of them. No comfort options, no compromises, just everything you need for serious track work, straight from the factory.

This 2002 example is one of those few original clubsport versions (Code 003)! Delivered new in France on November 16th, 2001, and later registered in Germany, it now lives in Belgium with just 47,251 km from new.  Finished in classic Polar Silver, this car looks as sharp as it drives. The car comes with everything you’d hope for: the original leather Porsche book pack, fully stamped service booklet, manuals, certificate of conformity, and the correct German registration documents.

And when you drive it? That’s where the legend comes alive. The 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six doesn’t start - it erupts. Torque builds instantly, the engine bristles with energy, and the response is ferocious. The GT2 catapults from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds and storms on to 315 km/h. But it’s not just the power that sets it apart - it’s the weight. At just 1,440 kg, it’s over 100 kg lighter than the 911 Turbo, and you feel it in every corner, every input, every braking point.

And yet, it’s not just about numbers or lap times. It’s about connection. Every shift through the six-speed manual feels mechanical and deliberate. The steering is alive with feedback. The chassis communicates constantly. And with no electronic safety nets to filter the experience, the GT2 delivers something few modern cars can: honesty. Raw, intense, unforgettable. Modern supercars might be faster. They might be more advanced. But they don’t make you feel like this. This one does.
