We love collector’s items like this Paige: original cars in incredibly good condition that are fully roadworthy. Cars that, a hundred years after their production, still demonstrate their top-class quality!

This Paige is special for several reasons. It is the largest model Paige could offer: the 6-70 Sedan. The engine is a large 5.4-liter inline six-cylinder, delivering plenty of torque and, for its time, a generous 70 horsepower. Despite being 100 years old, this car can easily keep up with modern traffic.

Despite being over a century old, this Paige has never been restored. The body is still largely finished in its original paint. Some areas have been carefully touched up, but always with great attention to preserving the authentic appearance. Take note of the interior as well: the headliner, the wooden floorboards, the carpet, and not least the leatherette on the roof and running boards.
This Paige is also equipped with a (still functioning) engageable compressor, connected to the gearbox, which allows the tires to be inflated in the event of a puncture. For proper preservation, however, all the nickel-plated parts were redone in England by the company Genius of the Lamp, an expensive undertaking.

According to the original brochure included with the car, the Sedan was standardly equipped with a fuel gauge, clock, front cigar lighter, sun visor, heater, and an exit light above the right rear running board. All of these features are present on this Paige. The interior also includes a smoking set for the gentlemen in the rear and a vanity kit for the ladies.
The same brochure also mentions the “De Luxe” option package that was available for the 6-70. This car is additionally equipped with this package: double bumpers front and rear, a nickel-plated radiator topped with a Motometer temperature gauge, two spare wheels with covers mounted at the front left and right, a rear luggage rack, automatic windshield wipers, and a brake and tail light.

In October 2008, a Dutch enthusiast purchased the car in the United States from the owner who had possessed it since 1968. The Paige was registered in the Netherlands on May 11, 2011.
Between 2008 and 2011, several major maintenance and preservation works were carried out. The car received new tires, and the steel wheel rims were repainted in the original color. The original (!) wooden wheel centers were treated with linseed oil to preserve their authenticity.
Upon arrival in the Netherlands, the exhaust system had to be replaced and was therefore accurately reproduced. The fuel tank was ultrasonically cleaned and given a new coating. The generator received a new bronze rear plate, as the original was beyond repair. The radiator was removed and cleaned. The oil pan was removed and refitted with a new gasket. The crankcase was spotless, and the bronze oil pump was in near-new condition.
The car was also fitted with period-correct turn signals. The original windshield wiper motor turned out to be defective; it was repaired and reinstalled on the car.

In 2022, the car received a major service including new hoses, spark plugs, belt, and battery.
This rare and unique Paige Detroit 6-70, with all its curiosities and remarkable history, would fit perfectly into any collection. It represents a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling in a century-old limousine. Wherever people take a step a hundred years back in time, this Paige will be a most welcome guest.
