In the motoring world, the Mini Mk1 Cooper S is regarded as a legendary ‘giant killer’ and has been a legend in historic motorsport and various classic car competitions for decades. Thanks to its unrivalled road holding, renowned agility and historic victories—such as its iconic triumphs in the Monte Carlo Rally—this classic remains immensely popular worldwide. Both professional racing teams and enthusiasts use the Mk1 Cooper S in championships such as Tour Auto, Classic Monte Carlo and Goodwood Revival.
This particular car has been built entirely from scratch and has only been driven on the track for a couple of hours, mainly for set-up purposes. The Mini has been built using the finest components: a 1293cc Swiftune race engine, a Swiftune dog box gearbox kit, a Trans X differential, a Swiftune fuel tank and Swiftune Koni dampers (2022 spec). The welded full roll cage is FIA-approved and supplied by Safety Devices. It has a KAD rear anti roll bar and sits on Rose Petal 10" wheels fitted with Dunlop C65 race tyres. This is a very capable car in the right hands, and ready to race. There is no road registration with the car, as it is purely build for track racing.
The car has been built to FIA Appendix K standards, and given the attractive price, an FIA HTP is not included but can be arranged at an additional cost. The car was built several years ago for competition, but due to circumstances this has been repeatedly postponed and it has now been decided to put the car up for sale. A unique opportunity for a Mini enthusiast.
This is an ideal car for pure enjoyment in historic races or track days, and impossible to replicate for the current asking price.
