Descripción

A typical and special Italian automotive creation of the 50s: this is how this Moretti 750 Sport bialbero could be defined. It is one of the very few Barchettas made by the coachbuilder from Turin, known since the 1930s, famous for custom-built “fuoriserie” marketed in mainly in Italy but also abroad. The style of this car is the work of Giovanni Michelotti, a very popular stylist in those years, capable of harmonizing elegant shapes with a small car conceived for sporting use. The bodywork was created by Carrozzeria Motto, from Turin as well, which built most of the approximately twenty examples produced. Each one has small differences, from the windscreen to the driver's seat to the air intakes on the nose and sides: it can therefore be stated with reasonable certainty that each 750 sport is almost a one-of-a-kind example. The Moretti register today counts 18 cars existing.

The engine is the flagship of this car, a twin cam built entirely by the Turin company that delivers over 60 horsepower on a total weight of 655 kilos, for a respectable power-to-weight ratio for a almost 70 years old car.

The car we propose was sold in January 1955 in Switzerland where it spent its entire life before being purchased by the current owner in 2000. It took part in two 1000 Miglia and numerous other events, including "Le mitiche sport a Bassano”, being attractive and eligible for the most important international events.

Subject to a conservative restoration at the time of purchase, the car is in good general condition, with ASI and FIVA documents (the latter to be renewed).

Car visible by appointment in Modena. More details on www.gulfblue.it
