This is not just any classic Mini, this is a Mini Cooper 40th Anniversary that stands out from the rest. Restored, reconditioned and repainted in the Netherlands. From the last Italian series and also in absolute top condition technically. No expense has been spared, so it is ready to drive away. Since its restoration and overhaul, the Mini has been driven sporadically and only in dry weather. Only 400 units of the last series of this iconic Mini were built, and it is now a beloved and sought-after classic car.
The exterior looks very nice and there are hardly any signs of wear. The Mini has been repainted in its original colour, “Mulberry Red”, and the paintwork is of a high standard. The silver roof, mirrors and striping provide a nice contrast. All separate parts have been professionally repainted, such as the mudguard extensions, number plate lights and both the inside and outside of the bonnet, tailgate and doors. All door and window rubbers are new, including new window seals. Clearly top-quality paintwork. The MkI details are very nice, such as the moustache grille, new small rear lights, John Cooper stainless steel door sills and stainless steel MkI bumpers with corner bars. The headlights and all indicator units and lenses are new. Also beautiful are the new Rose Petal alloy wheels with new Yokohama tyres, including a spare wheel.
The 40th anniversary interior is very beautiful and well maintained. The beautiful dark red leather upholstery is completely original and has only a few signs of wear. The brushed aluminium dashboard is very attractive and features six Smiths dials with chrome rims. The top of the dashboard has a leather top. Also nice is the aluminium Cooper gear knob and dark red gear knob cover. An excellent Sony radio/ CD player has recently been installed with Pioneer parcel shelf speakers, dashboard speakers and a Kenwood subwoofer. Sounds great. This Mini Cooper has the legendary 1275 cc engine with multipoint injection, so it starts easily without any hassle. Clean and economical. The reconditioned four-cylinder engine has a new sports exhaust, a new intake and exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter has been replaced. Thanks to the free breathing, the engine delivers around 70 hp. That may not seem like much, but it does make for a lot of fun, because the Mini weighs only 720 kg when empty. The clutch and gearbox have been completely overhauled, including the flywheel, pressure plate and oil seals. The Cooper drives and shifts gears excellently. A number of invoices and MOT forms are available for inspection. Many more items have been renewed and improved, almost too many to mention. Sold on consignment from a private individual, the mileage has been read.
