Descripción

Registered on the 7th July 1972, this wonderful MGB GT is finished in her original British Racing Green with Tan interior comes fitted with the classic 1800cc 'B' series engine, mated to a 4 speed overdrive gearbox, features a whole raft of extras and upgrades and presents with one of the largest history files we've seen on a B GT, the history spans two fastidious owners over the last 25 years with invoicing of approx £15k!

Walking around the car, we're delighted to say that while the file suggests that this GT was restored some 20 yrs ago, with an invoice in the file for £7,500 for parts and paint alone, the bodywork remains in very good condition indeed. There's zero rust that we've spotted, just a few insignificant marks / stonechips consummate with the years and a peak underneath reveals a body-coloured underside that's in fabulous condition too! The panel gaps are all excellent, the usually weak seams between the wings are all superb and there's not many who would dispute how good this quintessential British classic looks in her British Racing Green livery, with wonderful bright chrome-work, upgraded 15" diamond cut 'Minilite' style alloys with a slightly lower stance, this great looking MGB GT really stands out from the crowd.

The quality feel extends to the interior too. Open the doors and you're meet with a smaller sports steering wheel, inertia-reel seatbelts, her original tan interior looks fantastic, she's recently had new carpets, there's a real sense of class and occasion with her upgraded Burr Walnut dash and a glance upwards shows a recently installed new Webasto full length sun-roof, the inner roof lining in black, far nicer in our opinion to the regular white roof lining which can often stain over time. Open the tailgate and there's a fully carpeted boot area, with sound deadening underlay all round she's just great for touring too.

Mechanically the car is in first class order, we'll say it now.....'one of the very best 50 year old classics we've driven', our 10 mile test route a real delight. The numerous upgrades to suspension components, brakes, perfectly jetted carbs, the adjustable 123 ignition, rebuilt engine, steering and stainless exhaust have all transformed this MGB. There's none of the unusual 'wallow', lack of go and wandering around the road.....she's as tight as a drum, tempting you to push on round the bends and squeeze the throttle further still on the straights, she's a really nice classic. Ahead of her sale she'll still pass to our independent engineer for a 'Health Check', where we'll attend to service, pre-MOT items and naturally she'll come with 12 months MOT too....it's just our good housekeeping

Universally available, but so often in poor states of repair or having been subject to 'patchwork' restorations finding a nice MGB GT isn't as straight forward as one might think. Well prepared and cherished, this MGB GT is a wonderful chrome bumper example, fabulously maintained and well sorted with her upgrades. She's ready to be enjoyed straight away and we feel offers an enthusiast a great way into classic MG ownership, ideal for touring, classic car shows or just a little 'me time', you'll love her!
