1988 | Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12

The XJ-SC was a much less common variant of the XJS, introduced in 1983 as a cabriolet option before the full convertible arrived in 1988. It was built in limited numbers, making it a very rare find today. E918 HFG presents as a very tidy and usable example of an XJ-SC with the sporty TWR enhancements giving it an aggressive road presence. Accompanying the car are MOT certificates dating back to 1990 when it was first tested indicating the 32,000 miles displayed to be correct. In 1998 the car was sold out of the UK to Northern Ireland where it saw regular use until 2003 when it went into storage for around 10 years. 2015 saw the Jaguar receive some recommissioning work being carried out following its period of non-use when it arrived back in England. The history file holds invoices for the car covering maintenance carried out since 1999, creating a picture of a well-looking example. Recently, the XJS has been subject to a thorough service, all new auxiliary belts were replaced, brake calipers were stripped and cleaned, an air-conditioning re-gas and a new battery was fitted ensuring the car is ready go.

The 5.3-liter V12 HE (High Efficiency) engine pulls strongly while the TH400 (GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400) 3-Speed transmission smoothly changes through the gears. Throughout this model you are reminded of the design brief that has been fulfilled perfectly. The wood veneer found throughout the cabin pays homage to the luxury heritage if Jaguar cars finishing the interior off to a lovely standard.
