Descripción

This beautiful manual with overdrive Jaguar MKII 3.8 has been owned by a dear friend of ours in South Wales for the past 20 years. First registered on the 23rd February 1966, this UK RHD home market matching numbers car changed hands for the first time in 1969 and then spent almost 30 years with one Sheffield based owner. Throughout ownership the car was maintained by Sheffield Jaguar agents Hatfield’s and during the cars early life it was often taken overseas, one notable trip for its early owners being a holiday in Italy where the Jaguar was photographed by the ‘Lakes’ with pride. By 1998 the Jaguar was in the hands of an ex Jaguar employee who eventually set up a Jaguar restoration business in South Wales. With 85 AVE being his personal car, it was restored with no expense spared and the engine was completely rebuilt by then Jaguar engine specialists VSE. In 2004 the MKII came into the hands of our friend in South Wales who has loved and cherished this car.The car has played a major part of the JEC scene in South Wales, often on show or display at the various Jaguar events.

After 20 years of regular use, over 2024/2025 the MK2 was put through a major program of work costing over £25000. The bodywork was completely checked over and then subject to removal of corrosion, new metal work as required and extensive paintwork to achieve a stunning overall finial. Some of the brightwork has been renewed, and the car mechanically taken to a very high standard. As result this MK2 is exceptional on the road offering impressive, exhilarating performance from its strong, fit 3.8 unit. With the benefits of a full webasto sunroof, the car is a pleasure to drive and on the road it handles superbly, the gearbox is super smooth and the overdrives comes in and out smoothly.

85 AVE presents well with an excellent, straight bodyshell with structurally outstanding underside. The Indigo Blue paintwork is of a high standard and the Magnolia leather has delightfully aged. On chrome wire wheels and Coombs style spats, this is a very strong, fit, lively MK2 Jaguar that presents as well as it drives. Coming with extensive paperwork to include recent invoices, copy ‘buff' logbook, many old MOT's, tax discs, original booklets and manuals, former owner correspondence, this is a true all round special car that has a history of staying with its owners for many years.
