HMC Mk IV, year 1998.

The HMC Mark IV is a hand built British roadster inspired by the classic Austin Healey 3000 Mk III (BJ8). It features a modern tubular chassis and contemporary drivetrain while retaining the unmistakable shape and character of the original Big Healey.

Power comes from a robust fuel injected Rover 3.9 litre V8 engine, giving the car strong performance and a wonderfully charismatic soundtrack.

The bodywork is crafted from glass fibre and Kevlar reinforced plastics, with ‘force cured’ composite outer panels that offer both lightness and durability. Impact absorbing structures are incorporated into the bumpers, door pillars, sills, and bulkhead. Inside, the Mark IV combines traditional craftsmanship with improved ergonomics and comfort.

Only 170 examples were built to bespoke order, meaning every car is unique and exclusivity is guaranteed.

This gorgeous 1998 HMC Mark IV, production number 0128, chassis (VIN) number SA904943GWGLT0128 and engine number 47A08805B, comes from its first owner.

The bodywork is finished in dark racing green (BMW 289), complemented by a black full leather interior and green carpeting. The first owner covered 58,750 unforgettable kilometres in this fantastic sports car from new.

On start up there is no 3 litre straight six howl, but instead the rumble of a 190 bhp 3.9 litre V8 — the same legendary unit used in the Morgan +8 and the TVR S Series.

With a weight of 1200 kilogrammes, the HMC Mark IV delivers impressive performance.

The substantial 305 Nm of torque is especially noticeable when the ‘big hand’ pulls the car from 0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.

With independent suspension all round and disc brakes on all four wheels, the car handles and stops exceptionally well.

This wonderful example has been carefully garaged, serviced, and maintained, and shows only slight signs of previous use.
