Descripción

In the 1950s, Austin-Healey was born out of a collaboration between technical ingenuity and creative vision. Their legacy in the world of sports cars not only influenced automotive history, both on the road and on international racing circuits, but also left a lasting impression. The famous 3000 series, which shined at events such as Sebring, Le Mans and Bathurst, is a testament to their remarkable journey.

Toward the end of the 1950s, Austin-Healey had already won a place in many hearts, especially in the American market. Although the 1956 100/6 roadster was well received, the 2.6-liter engine proved no match for competitors. In response, the groundbreaking 3000 appeared in 1959. Externally it remained unchanged, but under the hood the 3000 boasted a powerful engine of nearly 3 liters with dual carburetors. This was accompanied by the replacement of drum brakes with disc brakes at the front.

Our beautiful 1962 Austin-Healey 3000MKII rolled off the factory line on January 31, 1962, en route to her first owner in San Francisco. She was equipped with some sought-after extras, including signature wire wheels and an overdrive.

The stunning Primrose (Sunburst) yellow body color comes to life beautifully in the sunlight and, after a very high-quality repaint several years ago, still retains its luster as if new. The blue leather seats, with matching yellow stitching, have also been reupholstered with the utmost care and therefore complete the picture

Under the hood is a powerful 2912cc 6-cylinder inline engine, equipped with two Su HS6 carburetors, which fully expresses its power, especially when combined with the overdrive. The smooth 4-speed manual transmission lets you shift effortlessly in any gear. And when it comes to stopping, the disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear guarantee the right stopping power, even during sportier drives.

This classic roadster is not only suitable for relaxed Sunday drives, but is also ready for serious rally adventures or a scenic trip to France. Now available at Rock 'N Roll Classics.
