Descripción

This is an incredibly rare motor car, a stunning, rebuilt 1970 Aston Martin DBS Volante, one of only six ever built. When production of the DB6 MKII Volante came to an end in 1970, Aston Martin were not able to offer a Convertible until the introduction of the V8 Volante in 1977 and this presented an opportunity for British Coachbuilders Banham Conversions who made six of these stylish Aston Martin Convertibles along with many other conversions to marques such as Ferrari, Rolls Royce and Jaguar.

YKT 99J was supplied new by Sunridge Park Motors of Bromley, Kent and it later went to Paul Banham for its modification work. Retaining matching numbers, this DBS is said to be the only six cylinder automatic Banham car. The six cylinder DBS ran concurrently with the DB6 for three years, sharing the 4.0 six cylinder engine that produced 282bhp. YKT 99J has a wonderful sounding, fit and strong, original engine that offers impressive performance on the road. The smooth automatic gearbox offers relaxed, comfortable cruising, it certainly doesn't disappoint on the road.

The Aston Martin comes with a large file of paperwork that includes an impressive magazine feature, plus a beautifully presented book documenting a major restoration in 2018. Ramsport UK in North Wales have over 30 years of experience building cars and carrying out restorations and they took the DBS back to a rolling shell and with glass, doors, bonnet and boot removed the body was renewed as required and after extensive metal work and preparation, the car was treated to a complete full re-paint. Further to bodywork and paintwork, the engine bay received the same quality treatment and the interior trim was also re-finished. In March 2020 the DBS was taken to AM Automotove Interiors to have the seat belts re-webbed and a brand new hood. In 2021 the Aston Martin was taken to Woodham Mortimer in Essex and had over £11,000 spent on various detailed work.

YKT 99J presents beautifully with stunning bodywork, paintwork, re-chromed brightwork and a gorgeous Black leather upholstery, recently replaced hood and chrome wire wheels. The bodywork is impressive throughout and on the road the car is equally as impressive. Luxury and style are words synonymous with the Aston Martin brand, and this DBS is no exception. On the road the DBS pulls smoothly through the automatic transmission, kick down works perfectly and the car holds all the characteristics of an excellent large, comfortable long distance touring car.
